Volunteers provide much needed support to the activities of the Society through a variety of volunteer assignments. We are always happy to hear from people who can offer some time to the Society be it an hour a week or a couple of days a week. Volunteers are currently involved in a range of assignments which offer them an opportunity to use their skills or maybe learn new ones. We are currently looking for volunteers to become involved in... Clubs and Social Groups Admin and Clerical Support Fundraising Events Helping in our Charity Shop and Store Computing Activities Assisting in our Tape Service Running our Fitness Room Visiting people in their own homes Outings and Holidays Our Resources Centres Guiding Running HELLO Centre (Home Entertainment Lending Library) Doing odd jobs (painting etc.) Driving for our clients What Next? Our volunteers undergo an awareness training session which gives them an insight into the work of the Society, information on the various eye conditions affecting our clients, together with a hands-on experience of guiding clients. We don't expect people to be experts as we are happy to offer training specific to the volunteer's area of interest. If you are not too sure whether or not volunteering is for you then why not give us a ring and arrange to come in for an informal chat. We would be more than happy to show you around the Resource Centre and tell you more about our work and the valuable contribution that our dedicated team of volunteers make. Want to Know More
